The Education Minister’s political secretary Syahrin Md Jamaluddin joined the squad, led by the Pagoh MCA division chairman Datuk Gan Hong Su who was also aided by several volunteer fire fighting units from other districts.
The team began with cleaning public buildings including schools, temples, shops and multi-purpose halls before clearing debris as a result of the floods last week.

A helping hand: Gan (front) and Syahrin (third from left) joining MCA’s CRSM members and volunteer fire units to clean tables and other items at SRJK Ai Hwa in Panchor recently. |
“We entered Panchor town at about 9am this morning when the flood waters completely receded and began works at SRJK(C) Ai Hwa.
“There were so many things to do, including cleaning the classrooms and removing tables, chairs and other items which were full of mud, ” he told reporters at the school on Wed.
Gan also said MCA headquarters through its 1Malaysia MCA Foundation donated 350 crates of bottled water for residents in Bukit Kepong, Lenga and Panchor.
Syahrin said it would take some time for the residents to completely clean their houses of the muddy water, they also had to throw away damaged household items.
He said tonnes of damaged household items were now piled along the roads in Panchor, Lenga and Bukit Kepong as well as along the roads in flood-hit villages.
He said while the CSRM squad helped to clean the affected towns, the army, university students and trainees from GiatMara helped the villagers to clean their homes.
He said 85 trainees from Pagoh and Parit Sulong Giat Mara Institutes on Wed entered Kampung Jayor near Pagoh to clean up flooded homes.
Besides houses, they also helped to clean the Pagoh mosque, and a religious school in Pagoh, while some trainees went to Grisek to help the villagers there.
“We will continue the operations until all public buildings, especially schools, mosques, temples, libraries and public halls in the affected areas are cleaned,” he added.

Now the Buddhist Temple (Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong) belongs to a place where Myanmar people gather for weddings and night parties during holidays, where they usually drink alcohol and meat for their meals.
We know very well and before I was on the committee of that Buddhist Temple but now we are not on the committee because the president (DATUK YIP KUM FOOK, LAWYER) changed the rules of the Temple, and some of us have to move in the other direction, DATUK YIP KUM FOOK is playing the Temple as politics and like his Temple
The second president of the Temple was Simon Low Kok Meng (Brother-in-law of Datuk Yip Kum Fook) he was very funny and silly, he had no name in the temple committee but he controlled the Temple, and he was not educated, probably not beyond a third-form education in Sg. Buluh, Selangor
Before the Taman Desa Jaya Buddhist temple, Kepong was very famous and many people knew everywhere because there were Sunday schools, Bahasa Malaysia tuition for those learning form five, and more activities to conduct, other religious programs.
Today the committee hires Myanmar monks for the Temple to carry out religious activities but some monks from Myanmar cannot speak English (Doctorate Level or PH.D), this is the Karma of the committee members to accept this, this is embarrassing for Buddhists.
