Armed burglars chased away by 3-yr-old child

Ruthless armed burglars were chased off by a brave little lad — aged just THREE.

He sprang into action after the hooded thugs smashed their way into his home at 1am and demanded cash at knifepoint from his parents.

They were frozen in terror — but the robbers got more than they bargained for when the lad charged out of his bedroom screaming at the top of his voice.

In a scene worthy of Macaulay Culkin’s 1990 blockbuster Home Alone, the raiders fled with just a packet of cigarettes — leaving the shocked couple unharmed.

Amazingly the couple’s younger child slept through the entire ordeal.

The burglars had first tried to con their way into the house by pretending to be police.

But when that failed they returned after the 24-year-old mother and father, 33, had gone to bed.

They smashed through the front door of the flat in Southampton and waved a knife at the couple who were terrified their two children would be harmed.

A police spokesman said: “The intruders threatened them and demanded money.

“They were disturbed by the couple’s three-year-old son who came out of his room screaming — making the men run away.

“There was also a young baby in the house who stayed asleep.

“The only item the burglars got away with was a packet of cigarettes.”

He added: “Officers believe this was not a random incident and that the flat was targeted.”

Police said the attackers were white,aged between 18 and 20.
