Methodist Care Centre (MCC) chairman Kapitan Wong Hie Ching said they should instead provide the best opportunities for theirchildren so that they could one day also become useful citizens.
“You should give more love, joy, hope and confidence to these special children,” Wong said at the 13th graduation ceremony for 28 children with special needs at the Agape Centre here.
Meanwhile, MCC supervisor Chew Siok Cheng said the centre had provided education and training to about 180 children with special needs since it was established in 1998.
She added that the centre also employed young adults with special needs in its workshop.
