The 19 arrived here yesterday for a two-month programme organised by Denmark-based Adventure Heart.
Coordinated by local company Dynamic Tours, the programme is endorsed by the education ministry as it includes voluntary teaching of English and Geography in selected schools.
Ben Golimbi of Dynamic Tours said the programme covered experiences involving tour, language, adventure activities, education and volunteerism.
"In the first half of the programme, the participants will tour key attractions in Sabah and at the same time, move around on a budget mode."
The second half of the programme will see participants living with foster families here, giving them the opportunity to interact with the local community.
Golimbi said the group's activities would also help the local community widen their knowledge via exposure to foreign culture.
This is the third consecutive year Adventure Heart is bringing in groups under the programme to Sabah and the number has grown over the years.
Established in 1984, Golimbi said there had been individual participants who visited Sabah from as early as 1997, but not in groups.
