Taiping Lake Gardens iconic raintree uprooted in storm


TAIPING: The Taiping Lake Gardens lost one of its iconic raintrees after a heavy storm uprooted it.

“The raintree that is over a hundred years old was uprooted due to strong wind and blocked the main road surrounding the lake gardens.
In jubilant mood: Residents rejoicing after hearing the Taiping Municipal Council’s
decision to call off the development of kiosks at the Taiping Lake Gardens.

“Luckily, no one was injured during the incident and the municipal council is in the process of clearing the debris,” he said.
