South Korean visitors land on state shores

KUCHING: A group of 14 South Korean tourists on an incentive trip arrived here for a three-day, two-night visit.

A spokesman for the group Steven Lee said Kuching was chosen as the destination for their visit because of its eco-tourism attraction.

“We got to know Sarawak during the Sarawak Tourism Board’s promotional trip to Seoul last year.

“So we decided to visit Kuching as we have heard much about Sarawak,” he said at the Kuching International Airport yesterday.

The group, among others, will visit the Bako National Park, Sarawak Cultural Village, Semenggoh National Park and Annah Rais longhouse.

One of the tourists Kim Dong-jan said he was excited to be able to visit Sarawak.

“This is our first trip to Sarawak and we look forward to visiting those tourist attractions.

“I believe we will have a memorable holiday here,” he said.
