THE Perak Government will fork out RM1.5mil to send its 696 students taking courses in Eygpt back to the country, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said.
He said the state Islamic Council would also give RM500 to each student as pocket money.
“The first batch is expected to leave for Eygpt on March 12 as their examinations will begin on March 17,” he told reporters after chairing the weekly state exco meeting in Ipoh on Wednesday.
The students had returned to Malaysia early last month due to the unrest in Eygpt then.
