FESTIVE CHEER: The children received Hari Raya clothes, shoes and cookies
KUALA LUMPUR: IT was a day to remember for some 300 orphans and physically disabled children from three homes when they were treated to a shopping spree followed by the breaking of fast recently.
Hosted by CIMB Group, the underprivileged children from Pertubuhan Kanak-Kanak Insan Istimewa Cemerlang, Pusat Jagaan Lambaian Kasih and Rumah Alam Limpahan Kasih in Selangor not only received their brand new Raya clothes and shoes for the upcoming celebrations, but also traditional Malay delicacies of murtabak, bubur lambuk and cookies.
They came together at Ar-Rahah mosque in Bangsar South where they broke fast with the group's senior management and staff, together with members of the local community there.
The mother of group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, Tun Rahah Mohd Noah, was also present to welcome the children.
Also present were CIMB Group chairman Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, CIMB Foundation chief executive officer Raja Noorma Raja Othman, CIMB Bank chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Putih and his wife, Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng.
The children also attended Maghrib, as well as the Isya' and Terawikh prayers.
