Das Auto does charity for special kids at Pertubuhan Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Setia

IPOH: Das Auto (The Car) “vroomed” its way to the Loyal Handicapped and Disabled Children Home Association here, winning the hearts of its residents.
About 60 members of the Volkswagen Auto Club hopped into 22 Volkswagen cars, driving from Kuala Lumpur to where the association is located in Silibin here, bringing goodies to cheer up the residents.
They presented groceries and donations worth about RM10,000 to the home.
Club chairman Ho Soo Khai said the convoy of Volkswagen cars, mostly GTIs and Sciroccos, was the first event organised by them since the club was formed six months ago.
“Since it’s the school holidays, we felt that it would be nice to have an outing that is also meaningful.
“We have heard about the home in need of assistance so we gathered our resources together to help them,” he said during the visit yesterday.
The donations, he said, were collected from the public and also the club itself.
The convoy began its journey from the Sungai Buloh R&R at about 8am, arriving in Ipoh at 11am.
Accompanying the cars was the Ipoh Super Bikers Club with their fleet of about 20 high-powered motorcycles.
