Autistic Teen has fingers blow off by bullies

Teasing and bullying are a tragic consequence
of being on the autism spectrum. 8 in 10
teens with Asperger's syndrome  / autism are
bullied. And many want to have friends so
badly that they put up with the bullies.

I spoke a while ago with a young adult who
said that he was mercilessly bullied in junior
and high school. And surprisingly, he felt that
these bullies were his only friends! You see, at
least that paid some attention to him.

I just read a horrible news story about a teen
in Australia who had his fingers blown off
when bullies handed him what he thought
was a ball. But it was a homemade bomb that
blew off his fingers.

Per the article...
"The mother of a Brisbane teenager whose
hands were blown off after a homemade
bomb exploded has called for the boy who
threw it at him to be charged with
attempted murder.

Michael Boggan, 15, lost most of his fingers
after a golf ball filled with explosives
detonated in a backyard west of Brisbane on
Friday afternoon.

It is believed he was sitting with a group of
friends when he was thrown the homemade
bomb and it exploded in his hands. Two boys
were seen running from the house
immediately after the blast."
