Sarah's Olympian feat : Blast Usain Bolt Records

Sarah's Olympian feat

Move over, Usain Bolt! There's a cat that's faster than you.
Sarah the cheetah broke the world record for the 100m dash in 5.95 seconds. This blows away the Olympian's 9.58 second record, reported the National Geographic. The 11-year-old cheetah's sprint is the fastest timed 100m ever run by anything on the planet, the officials said.
Hang on! We know what you're thinking. Cheetahs are the fastest animals on the planet. But Sarah is even faster. Not all cheetahs can run that fast. For instance, a young male cheetah's 9.97 seconds record was no match for Sarah's.

Cathryn Hilker, founder of the Cincinnati Zoo's Cat Ambassador Program, who helped raise Sarah from a cub said, "Nobody can run like Sarah. She's special. I always knew she could run under six seconds, but to see it happen like this is wonderful."

"She looked like a polka-dotted missile," added National Geographic photo editor Kim Hubbard. "I've never seen anything alive run that fast." Apparently wild cheetahs are even faster when they chase antelopes for their dinner.
