SHAH ALAM: All employees of Selangor state government-linked companies will be paid a minimum wage of RM1,500, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said on Wednesday.
He said this when tabling the Selangor Budget 2012 here on Wednesday, totalling RM1.9bil.
Khalid told the state assembly that it was a balanced budget of RM1.6bil, with an additional grant of RM300mil from profits from Mentri Besar Inc and dividends from state government linked companies.
He also announced that Selangor civil servants would be given a half-month's bonus or minimum of RM500.
Meanwhile, Bernama reports that the budget for 2012 was 11.89% higher than this year's RM1.43bil budget.
Khalid Ibrahim said RM1bil would be for operating expenditure and RM600mil for development.
He said revenue was expected to increase with the 8.23% increase in taxes to RM574.7mil compared with the projection this year of RM531mil.
Non-tax revenue was forecast to increase by 40.12% to RM654.6mil compared with earning estimates for 2011 at RM467.2mil.
However, non-revenue receipts were expected to go down by 14.16% next year to RM370.7mil from this year's projection at RM431.9mil, he said. - Bernama
