Magnitude 6.2 quake hits northeast Japan - NHK

TOKYO, Sept 15 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 hit northeast Japan on Thursday, shaking buildings in Tokyo, although there is no threat of a tsunami, public broadcaster NHK said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage following the quake, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. (0800 GMT).
