KUALA LUMPUR: Genting Malaysia Bhd has unveiled the much-anticipated master plan for its US$3bil (RM9.3bil) Resorts World Miami, which boasts a series of four hotels with a total 5,200 rooms, two residential towers featuring 1,000 units and over 50 restaurants.

This is the first time Genting Malaysia has revealed to the public an artist’s impression of the approximately 10-million-sq-ft mixed-used development, which will be one of the largest development projects in the history of Florida, the United States.

Resorts World Miami is a destination resort featuring iconic skyscrapers with designs inspired by a coral reef and will serve as the centrepiece of a new three-mile Baywalk.

Genting Malaysia chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay said the resort would accelerate Florida’s evolution as a global destination at the crossroads of the Americas.

“Our goal is to create Resorts World Miami as the most successful destination resort in the Americas,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The series of four hotels will include a super-luxury hotel, a contemporary hotel, a convention hotel and a family hotel.
