KUALA LUMPUR: A category two strong north-easterly wind and choppy sea conditions have been forecast in the waters of Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang and Palawan until Tuesday.
According to a statement published in the Malaysian Meteorological Department website Sunday, wind speeds of between 50 and 60km per hour with waves reaching a height of up to 4.5m had been forecast for the area and the weather condition was dangerous for all shipping and coastal activities including fishing and ferry services.
The Department also issued a warning of strong north-easterly winds of between 40 and 50kph and category one choppy seas with waves reaching a height of up to 3.5m occurring in the waters of Kelantan, Terengganu, Sarawak (Miri), Sabah (West Coast, Kudat and Sandakan), Federal Territory of Labuan, the waters of Samui and Sulu, and expected to continue until Tuesday.
The strong wind and choppy sea condition is dangerous to small boats and sea recreational activities. - Bernama
