KANGAR - A Malaysian student in Japan has sent an SMS to her sister to say that she is safe in the wake of an earthquake and tsunami which hit that country today.
Sulastri Yahya, 37, who is doing her PhD in Critical Discourse Analysis at the Tohoku University in Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, said in the SMS to Yana that she was with her friends at the university but there was no electricity supply.
Her elder brother, contractor Husaini Yahya, 47, contacted by Bernama in Kuala Lumpur, said he was a little worried for his sister because he could not contact her after she had sent the SMS.
