Unisel now as Universiti Selangor

New name for state-owned university

UNIVERSITI Industri Selangor (Unisel) will be known as Universiti Selangor, beginning today, as the state-owned institution undergoes a rebranding exercise.

Unisel president and vice-chancellor Datuk Dr Rosti Saruwono said the name change was in line with global trends in the education field.

“We will still maintain “Unisel” used to refer to the university but a logo will be launched for the 11-year-old university,” he told reporters last week.

Dr Rosti said the word “Industri” used in its name had created confusion among parents while students had the perception that Unisel only offered courses related to industries and engineering.

“We have various courses, including nursing, mass communications, photography and more. We offer diploma and degree programmes,” he said.
